We enjoy a variety of field trips in Grade One. Parent drivers are required for three, and a bus will transport students for our skating trips. We will also participate in three in-class field trips.
Parents who are willing to drive other children need to become authorized drivers at the beginning of each school year. You will need to sign a form at the office, leave a copy of your insurance, and have two million dollar liability coverage on your vehicle. Parents are allowed to drive their own child on a field trip without being authorized.
Please note that field trip drivers and parents who attend are requested to help with supervision. It is therefore NOT recommended that parents bring younger siblings along on field trips.
Parents not attending field trips are required to send along booster seats for their child.
October: The Apple Barn (parent drivers)
November: Newton’s Force (in-class field trip)
January: Skating (2 times; children transported by bus)
April: The Dairy Farm (parent drivers)
May: Anyone Can Draw (in-class field trip)
June: Marvelous Magnets (in-class field trip)
June: Class Party (parent drivers)
Other field trips may come up that relate to our topic of study or as an outreach project. We will keep you posted. |
